The Wounded Healers Grief Circle is a monthly ritual designed specifically for therapists, clinicians, mental health practitioners, and healers who hold space for others. This circle is for those who are curious in exploring their grief, which can be related to client loss, burnout or compassion fatigue, professional identity shifts, personal losses carried while working, moral injury within systems of care, and collective trauma in the field. All forms of Grief are welcome. Through rituals of mindfulness, witnessing, storytelling, and creative expression, The Wounded Healers Grief Circle provides rituals for nourishment and connection.
Based off the work by Francis Weller, there are five gates of grief that expand universally:
1. Everything we love, we will lose
2. The places that never received our grief
3. The sorrows of our ancestors
4. The grief of the world
5. The grief of not being loved
Within each of these gates, there are numerous paths that we individually and collectively experience. As practitioners, it may feel more difficult and vulnerable for us to express our grief with others solely based on our professional standards and expectations. The Wounded Healer’s Grief Circle is a space to lean in together, communally, to attend to our grief and, in doing so, make a sacred offering to the entire Web of Relations of which we are an integral part of.
“Ritual does not rid us of the wounds we carry or free us forever from the weight of grief. Ritual is a maintenance practice that offers us the means of tending wounds and sorrows, for offering gratitude, and for reconciling conflicts, thereby allowing our psyches regular periods of release and renewal.” – Francis Weller
These circles will be ongoing, continuing to build upon itself, with an invitation for collaboration and support. Our hope is to inspire one another, to collaborate and continue to grow this circle collectively as the series continues. If you are interested in supporting this process or co-facilitating future rituals, please reach out to Lauren Doshier at lauren@i-thou-psychotherapy.com.

Collective Collage: Our Stories of Grief through Shared Creation
This ritual invites us to tend to our grief through the practices of mindful collaboration with Mother Earth and creation. Whether you are exploring your relationship with grief, or a specific type, all is welcome. As a group, we will learn how to create paints and glues that are naturally-sourced, which will then collectively share to create individual take-home collages of expression. We will tend to our individual and shared parts, stories, and experiences that beckon for attention. Folks who are creative, curious, or wish to explore their relationship with grief using Mother Nature’s gifts will enjoy this activity.
Preparation: Please wear comfortable clothing that you do not mind getting dirty, well as any other items for support. All basic materials will be provided, however please bring any photos or additional items that you may want to add to your individual collage. You are also invited to bring one item to share on the group altar that speaks to your grief and/or place in this moment in time.
Meet Your Facilitators
Lauren Doshier, Psychotherapist, LPCC, NMIT
Raised in Kansas and residing in Denver, Colorado since 2012, I am a therapist, sister, daughter, artist, animal-caregiver, and partner. My bloodlines have been shaped by the indigenous lands of the Comanche peoples and regions of Germany through my father’s line, and the landscapes of Belgium and Ireland through my mother’s.
After battling my own journey with substance addiction, my path in supporting others began during a personal transformation in my late twenties. Like seeds waiting for the right conditions to sprout, this pivotal time inspired me to explore contemplative practices and the integration of Eastern, Western, & Indigenous healing approaches. Drawing from a background in Fine Arts and training in trauma-informed, transpersonal, and somatic-based modalities, I support folks in exploring and reconnecting with their innate inner healing intelligence.
I root my practice in accountability and reciprocity while committing to collaborating in communal spaces of connection and healing. My heart’s medicine is in helping individuals and groups uncover and reclaim their choice and expression through collaborative space making in safety and connection.

Joshua Oliver, Reiki Master, RYT, NASM-CPT
Raised in Cleveland, Ohio and Residing in Lakewood, Colorado, I am a Mystic seeking The Way in all things. Stories of miracle workers, mystics, shamans, and sacred healers have fascinated me since a young age. Years of self study and investigation led to a desire to follow the paths of those that came before me, and calling that I answered when I moved to Colorado in 2019 to truly begin stepping into a path of my own. My work weaves Reiki healing, mediumship, intuitive divination, energy medicine, yoga, shamanic alchemy, and multidimensional energy work.
I believe healing is not something we do to others, but something we remember within ourselves. A healer must remain a devoted student of their own transformation, continually shedding illusions, deepening wisdom, and refining their capacity to hold sacred space. My path is both a calling and an initiation, guided by devotion to truth, service, love, and the unseen intelligence that breathes life into all things.

Maura Naranjo Huebl, Psychotherapist, LPC
Devout love of Mujer Grande and Mother Earth, I find my path through regular conversation with my ancestors and guides. Wildly curious about the shadow, I prefer intimacy with a side of hilarity. Committed to liberatory work for all beings, I focus my energy on dismantling oppressive systems and re-membering our roots. My purpose is to hold space for those yearning to embrace the duality of their humanness and their divinity.
I work from a relational-cultural, parts-informed, anti-oppressive, soma-to-spirit framework, walking alongside people as they break free from obstacles that invite shame of the human experience and obscure the divinity within them. My practice centers compassionate witness, the sacred goddess, deep curiosity, and embodied healing – inviting others to reclaim sovereignty.
Born and raised in Denver, I’ve served the community as an educator and therapist for 20 years. I am a white Chicana with matrilineal roots in the lands of Colorado since it was Mexico, and patrilineal ancestry from Germanic, Bohemian, and Prussian regions. I recognize the privilege of inhabiting a body that can live intimately with the land that has fostered my lineage for generations – may I steward Her, and you, well.
