My journey began as a lonely one, never feeling fully cared for, nor understood. Growing up, I believed that mistakes made me unlovable and that I was an inconvenience for others. As a result of this I often over-cared, over-managed, and overthought. With time, I recognized that this was because my childhood was full of pressure and expectations. With clarity, I changed how I see myself and moved toward greater self-acceptance because nothing needed to be fixed. Today, I am free of the old expectations and can guide my own life authentically.
Sometimes, the hardest part of healing is finding the space to hear yourself beneath everything the world has asked you to be. If you feel overwhelmed by anxiety, depression, past trauma, loneliness, or the expectations of others in this speeding world of uncertainty, therapy can offer a place to slow down, reconnect with yourself, and begin to understand what you truly need.
I specialize in integrating evidence-based therapeutic approaches with a foundation in mindfulness-based cognitive therapy. As a Buddhist counselor and longtime monastic, I bring a unique perspective to therapy, one that invites you to slow down, become more aware of your inner experience, and develop a deeper understanding of the thoughts, emotions, and patterns that shape your life.
I offer a grounded, compassionate space for people experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and the lasting effects of abuse, as well as individuals navigating life transitions, cultural identity, spirituality, or questions of belonging. I especially welcome survivors of abuse and those who have found themselves living between cultures, identities, or different expectations of who they are “supposed to be.” Together, we can gently explore what you have experienced and how it continues to influence the way you relate to yourself and the world around you.
My goal is to help you distinguish what is truly yours from what may have been imposed upon you – to reconnect with your own values, beliefs, and sense of self, and to discover who you are beyond the expectations and pressures that may have shaped you. Through mindfulness, self-compassion, and a deeper awareness of your inner experience, therapy can become a place to slow down, listen inwardly, and find your own path with greater clarity and intention.
If you’re looking for a therapist who values and embraces every part of who you are—including your spirituality, culture, emotions, and lived experience – I’m here to support you. We are meant to be in community, and I would be honored to be a part of your journey.
When I am not in my office, I enjoy the solitude with my tea set, my flute, and my spiritual practice. I also like community gathering and hiking.
